Writing From Inside the Subject
I write the documents that explain how complex things work — and I research them to the standard the subject demands. My background is decades of hands-on manufacturing and development work, so the writing comes from inside the subject, not from a distance. I work in English and Spanish, at a true technical register in both.
What sets this apart from most technical writing is that the record is independently documented across four domains — scholarship, industry, intellectual property, and litigation-grade research. Most writers claim range. This record proves it.
The Published & Filed Record
Counted here by type; the full bibliography — titles, identifiers, and filing numbers — is available on request.
- Two book-length investigative-history volumes, published in English with Spanish and German translation editions — 12+ ISBNs across paperback, hardcover, large-print, and re-issued editions. One volume carries a foreword by one of the field’s leading academic historians
- 6+ research papers — four also issued in professional Spanish and German translations: 14+ published documents in all, 13+ carrying permanent scholarly DOIs, cited in the subsequent academic literature and reviewed by historians and scientists in the field
- 6+ U.S. utility patent applications — specifications, claims, and detailed descriptions, with the accompanying patent drawings, exploded views, and schematics — including two highly technical medical devices, each preceded by multiple provisional filings
- 10+ U.S. trademark applications, authored end to end, with statements of use where applicable
- 17+ technical works registered under international copyright
- Two amicus curiae briefs across two federal cases and a pending federal appeal — together with the full ancillary pleadings they require: a supplemental brief, declarations, motions for leave, accommodation motions, certificates of service, and proposed orders — each brief built on roughly two months of primary-source research and drafted to the standards of the federal courts
- Complete plant documentation systems built from the ground up — employee and safety manuals, machine-by-machine operating and maintenance procedures, and the production, scheduling, shipping/receiving, and quality-reporting forms that ran operations before ERP, then the ERP process documentation that replaced them
What I Write
Industrial & Process Documentation
Standard operating procedures and work instructions. Equipment operating and maintenance manuals. Changeover, setup, and process-flow documentation. Complete documentation systems built from the ground up for a facility — the written backbone a plant runs on.
Safety & Compliance Documentation
Safety manuals and procedures, personal-protective-equipment and lockout/tagout documentation, machine-guarding and hazard procedures, and the records and forms that keep an operation audit-ready.
Intellectual-Property & Technical-Legal Writing
Patent specifications, claims, and detailed descriptions, together with the technical drawings that accompany them. Trademark applications and statements of use. Technical-legal documents that have to be both precise and persuasive, and that hold up to expert scrutiny.
Research & Long-Form Writing
Research-intensive, fully cited writing — from book-length nonfiction to formal papers and appellate-grade legal briefs. Work that requires locating primary sources, building an argument, and refining it over successive drafts until it is exact.
Facility, Construction & Permitting Documentation
Machinery and equipment specifications, installation and permitting documentation, and plant-layout and building-systems documentation — grounded in formal architectural training and years of building and rebuilding real facilities.
Business-Forms & Records Systems
Production, scheduling, shipping/receiving, and quality-and-efficiency reporting forms and the records systems around them — the structured documents that capture what a business actually does, day to day.
Bilingual Technical Writing — English & Spanish
Documentation authored or translated in English and Spanish at a genuine industrial and technical register. Not conversational translation — the shop-floor and engineering vocabulary of both languages, built on the floor in both countries.
